Aviation Survival Gear

We create survival gear designed specifically for aviators—gear that’s practical, reliable, and purpose-built for situation where every second counts

Our Mission

We are dedicated to equipping aviators with survival gear they can trust when it matters most. Whether flying into conflict zones, remote regions, austere environments, or even recreationally, aviators face unpredictable challenges—and when things go wrong, preparation is everything. Our gear is designed with that in mind: reliable, practical, and purpose-built to help keep you alive in the moments that count.

Every purchase fuels something bigger: the delivery of urgently needed supplies to those on the front lines of war and crisis—especially in Ukraine.  If you’re here, you probably believe in something bigger than yourself. So do we. Learn more about why we started, who we serve, and how this gear is already making an impact below.

Our Story

This project was born out of urgency—and purpose. In the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I joined a US based volunteer effort to contribute to bringing critical supplies to frontline responders, medics, and displaced families. I’m now a volunteer on the board of this charity. During these efforts, we began fielding requests from UA aviation units running active operations for survival gear to help save the lives of their aviators.  This need became painfully clear when I was delivering supplies in a location when a unit got a call. Two aviators were struck down over water. They don’t have standard issue survival vests or life preservers and were presumed dead.

The room got silent. This struck me hard.

We partnered with a retired USAF Brigadier General to help raise funds to help provide as much of this survival gear as we could. Some of the gear requirements couldn’t be easily sourced on the open market due to a combination of aircraft compatibility, unit requirements, cost and logistics challenges. The charity also had limited resources and we couldn’t fully meet the need. In an effort to get a meaningful amount of survival gear, I flew to a factory that also manufactures some gear for NATO countries and struck a custom manufacturing deal. We were ultimately able to design and manufacture a survival vest and personal floatation device system in a meaningful quantity that was supplied for free to Ukrainian aviators.  Many of the images and videos you see across the site were a part of that effort. As I continued to look for ways to fund volunteer efforts and supplies, Six Guard was born to offer this gear to the general public for the first time. This is the same exact gear we made for active use by Ukrainian fighter pilots and helicopter units.

Aviation Survival Vests

The survival vest was born out of real-world necessity—designed to equip pilots with immediate access to life-saving gear in high-risk environments. With fire resistant fabric, MOLLE mounting and an integrated harness, it’s a compact, field-tested system that keeps essential tools within reach when seconds matter.

PFD Life Preserver Systems

The PFDs (personal flotation devices) were designed specifically for aviators flying over water during operations, where rescue may be delayed. These side inflators are lightweight, MOLLE mountable, reusable and compatible with our survival vests. They can be configured to deploy automatically, manually, or both.

PFD Rearm Kits

Our floatation device rearm kits are easy to install and compatible with our PFDs. If you purchase our PFDs they will already be armed with CO2s and automatic inflation tablets, but you might want to pick up a couple of these kits so that you can rearm your PFDs after they have been deployed.
